High June started in 2021 when Will Sain and Hayden Church started a friendship over their love of music and both being musicians. Through many dorm room jam sessions and late nights, they pondered on the idea of starting a rock band.

The Ultimate Start

In the later months of 2021, during the quest to complete their musical puzzle, the two dedicated individuals successfully unearthed the initial trio of bandmates, a crucial discovery that included the enduring bassist, Ryon Gerringer.

The collective embarked on a series of numerous intimate yet resoundingly powerful performances, transforming backyard house shows into memorable sonic experiences.

As the creative journey unfolded, Ryon emerged not only as the missing musical link but also as the catalyst for brainstorming the band’s identity.

It was Ryon who proposed several potential monikers, among them the resonant suggestion of “High June,” a name that would come to symbolize the group’s distinctive essence in the unfolding chapters of their musical odyssey.

In the captivating narrative that is the unfolding tapestry of 2023, the band, with a decisive stroke, etched the final strokes to solidify the contours of their evolving lineup.

Searching for a frontman, the band soon saw the inclusion of the charismatic and distinctive vocalist, Jack Flowers.

Jack, with his dynamic stage presence and unparalleled vocal prowess, seamlessly assumed the coveted role of the eccentric frontman, infusing the ensemble with an electrifying energy that would become their signature.

Following Jack’s entrancing entry into the fold, the band continued their sonic metamorphosis with the addition of James Barbee, whose musical proficiency and rhythmic virtuosity impeccably fortified the previously laid foundations. 

The synchronicity between Jack’s vocal finesse and James’ rhythmic mastery not only elevated the band’s sonic tapestry but also signaled a new chapter in their artistic evolution, promising a musical journey rich in innovation and sonic exploration.

In the present era, the band is fervently engrossed in the creative process, tirelessly crafting a multitude of songs, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances at various shows, and rapidly garnering recognition within the vibrant and dynamic landscape of the rock music scene.
